This Privacy Policy explains how DealPlace (“DealPlace”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects personal information when you use the DealPlace mobile application, related websites, and APIs (together, the “Services”).
By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1. Who we are
DealPlace is a local discovery and booking marketplace that helps users find nearby shops, services, and offers, follow businesses, chat with them, and book appointment slots where enabled. Business owners can publish profiles, offers, service areas, and manage bookings.

2. Information we collect
We collect information you provide and information generated through use of the Services:
A. Account and identity
- Mobile phone number (used for OTP login)
- Full name and profile details you choose to add
- Authentication tokens and session identifiers
- Optional device/push tokens for notifications (for example chat alerts)
B. Location and discovery preferences
- Selected discovery location (place, district, state, or GPS)
- Approximate coordinates and search radius (where applicable)
- Preferred listing filters you set in the app
C. Business owner information (if you create a business profile)
- Business name, @handler, description, categories, business type (shop/office or service)
- Contact details (phone, email if provided)
- Address, GPS pin, Google Maps link, service areas, working hours
- Logo, cover, and product/service images you upload
- Verification status and related request notes
- Booking settings, windows, and subscription billing details when you enable booking (for example Razorpay customer/subscription identifiers, GSTIN if you provide it)
D. Content and activity
- Businesses you follow and offers you save
- Reviews and ratings you submit
- Chat messages you send or receive through in-app chat
- Bookings you create or manage (dates, slots/tokens, status; optional shared visit location if you choose to share it)
- Offers/products you create as a business owner
E. Device and technical data
- Device platform (for example Android), app version
- Approximate IP address, security logs, crash/diagnostic events
- Tokens used to keep you signed in securely
F. Media uploads
- Images uploaded to our storage for logos, covers, and offers
We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data such as government ID numbers through the standard consumer app flows, except where you voluntarily include such information in free-text fields you control.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to create and authenticate accounts; provide nearby discovery and search; operate business profiles, offers, follow, verification, and owner tools; enable chat and push notifications; operate booking calendars and Autopay where enabled; store saved offers and preferences; prevent fraud and abuse; comply with law; improve reliability; and send service-related notices.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Legal bases / lawful use (India)
We process personal data for purposes connected with providing the Services you request, operating our marketplace, securing accounts, and complying with applicable Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) as it applies to our operations, along with related rules.
5. How we share information
We may share information with other users when you publish profiles, offers, reviews, or chat messages; with service providers (cloud hosting, SMS/OTP, object storage, push delivery, payment processors for booking Autopay, analytics/crash reporting) under contractual obligations; with advisers where necessary; and with authorities when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
Business contact details and public profile fields you publish are intended to be visible to users of the Services in your discovery area.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
The mobile app primarily uses local secure storage and device preferences. Our websites may use essential cookies or similar technologies for security, session continuity, and basic analytics.
7. Data retention
We retain personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above, including while accounts remain active and for a reasonable period afterward for security, disputes, and legal compliance. When you delete a business profile, we remove that profile and related listing media from active systems, subject to residual backup copies for a limited time and any data we must retain by law.
8. Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, you may access and update profile information; change discovery location; unfollow businesses and unsave offers; delete a business profile you own; delete reviews you authored where supported; request help via [email protected]; and withdraw consent for optional features by stopping their use.
You may have rights under the DPDP Act to request access, correction, erasure, or grievance redressal for digital personal data, subject to legal exceptions. Email [email protected] with your registered phone number and a clear request. We may verify your identity before acting.
9. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards appropriate to our Services, including encrypted transport (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and secure token storage on device. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Please protect your device and do not share OTP codes.
10. Children’s privacy
The Services are intended for users who can form a legally binding contract under applicable Indian law (generally 18 years or older). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided data, contact [email protected].
11. Cross-border processing
Infrastructure providers may process data in India and/or other countries. Where data is transferred outside India, we take steps consistent with applicable law and provider contracts to protect it.
12. Third-party links and maps
The Services may link to Google Maps, payment checkout, or other third-party sites/apps. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We are not responsible for third-party services you choose to open.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” above will change when we do. Material changes may be communicated in-app or on dealplace.in. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
